Last week I review a bunch of podcasts that dealt with the Supernatural. This week I’ll go the opposite way and talk about a few podcasts that are closer to my heart, and that is those in the skeptical vain.

Today we have the Skepticality Podcast, which is the official podcast of Skeptic Magazine. Hosted by Derek Colanduno and Swoopy (yes, Swoopy), this is a supurb skeptical podcast. Now the two most recent show only had Swoopy as host, and I don’t know what happened to Derek Colanduno. I plan on going back and listening to older shows so many I’ll find out.

Skepticality is skeptical discussion, critical thinking, science, and the de-bunking of the supernatural and psuedoscience. Nice!

Last week I review a bunch of podcasts that dealt with the Supernatural. This week I’ll go the opposite way and talk about a few podcasts that are closer to my heart, and that is those in the skeptical vain.

The first is a podcast called MonsterTalk. Now I came across this while looking for shows to review for last week. When you hear, MonsterTalk, you’d instantly think a show talking about Big Foot and Nessy. Well, yes, these are the subjects of this podcast, but in a very scientific and Skeptical way.

MonsterTalk is a free audio podcast that critically examines the science behind cryptozoological (and legendary) creatures, such as Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, or werewolves. Hosted by Blake Smith, Ben Radford, and Dr. Karen Stollznow, MonsterTalk interviews the scientists and investigators who shine a spotlight on the things that go bump in the night. For once (and unlike mystery-mongering television shows) a monster-themed program gives skepticism more than just a couple minutes of lip service! – From The MonsterTalk Website

I can;t get enough of these shows. I will point out that I tried to listen to a UFO podcast and couldn’t get through it!

This is one of my favorite podcasts.

There is so much pseudoscience out in the world, bad facts and figures, it makes it hard to know what’s real. Scam artist use these things to sell magic jewelry and free energy solutions, others make money selling books or movies with much things as the Amityville Horror and people actually put their own heath at risk with useless alternative medicine schemes, like detoxification and reflexology. We haven’t even mentioned the Conspiracy theorists
