Ripley Radio

RipleyRadioI remember reading Ripley’s Believe It or Not when I was a youngster. I seem to remember it full of freaks and oddities. That is what I expected from Ripley Radio but what I got was something quite different. Hosted by “Ralf with an F”, aka Ralf Ingwersen and joined by four of five other, I found on this show was a really well done, profession podcast, full of news stories, interviews and information, and a bit more mainstream that I expected.

In one of the shows I listened to I heard and interview with a roller coaster designer. While I really enjoyed the interview, I could not see where it fit in with strange or oddities. I mean the description on iTunes states; Ripley Radio’s On-Demand Oddcast is a journey through a weird, wacky, whimsical, wild and totally unbelievable world of the odd and unusual.

I don’t mean to say that the show is totally void of strange stuff. The show begins with a bit called The Weekly Weird and I did hear and interview on how ghost are really demons trying to trick us. Oh, and a school called Harley Newman’s Oddity University and a lady who wrote a book called “One Minute Feng Shui for Prosperity,” Yes, there are some strange and unusual things in this show.

Another issue I had with this show was its lack of functionality on iTunes. I know it is possible to download the show from the Ripley Radio site, but me, like many people, prefer to use the convenience of iTunes. Whatever the cause of the iTunes link not working, I would advice the show to get that fixed.

I enjoyed the show and I would suggest you give it a listen.
