Serving Donuts Podcast

donut1logoI received another podcast review request. This one came from a gentleman named Scott.

“The Serving Donuts podcast is hosted my two friends, Scott and Jim who are professional broadcasters who’ve looked for a different way to communicate with the audience. Sometimes there are guests. The show revolves around news, relationships, the battle of the sexes, and being married. It’s lighthearted and fun. Give it a listen if you have the chance.”

So I download three episodes of this podcast and found it very entertaining. It is obvious right away that both these podcasters, Scott and Jim, are professional broadcasters. From what I heard, the show focus’s on topical issues with a lighthearted humor. I found Scott or Jim language refreshing in the fact they don’t feel the need to be vulgar or rude just for the sake of being vulgar or rude. Two of the three shows had another voice, a fellow named Dan, who doesn’t seem to be listed anywhere. They are all talking from different states, which I find fascinating.

The shows are a little over a half hour, which is a nice length for a show such as this. One thing a hate is shows of this sort drag on for 2 hours with nothing really to say. These two or three guys have a subject for each show, and after a discussion, finish up. That’s actually refreshing.

If I had one complaint, I thought ever now and again they try a little bit too hard to be funny. I could be wrong about that, it might just be me. I just listened to a show in which a health expert was talking about Swine Flu and really wanted to hear what she had to say but she was constantly interrupted by the host’s joking around. But that is just a very minor complaint, overall the show if very entertaining.

Humor is so subjective, I think you should give it a chance and see if it appeals to you. Personally, I will listen often.
