The Kitchen Sink Podcast Review

I’ve been getting quite a lot of Podcast review requests lately. I figure it might be because I generally give positive reviews. I was thinking the next time I got a request; it was going to be time to get nasty!

Then I received a request from Christopher Floyd to review his podcast, The Kitchen Sink.

kitchensinkLike I always do, I went to find it at the iTunes store. I found two other podcasts called the kitchen sink, but not Christopher’s. I realize that it doesn’t have to be available through iTunes, but I’m just use to finding podcasts that way.

So I downloaded two show’s from his website. The first was called, Good vs. Evil and the next, The Sensual Art of Pole Dancing. I have to admit I didn’t really know what to think but the title of the second show peaked my interest a little. The show’s name, The Kitchen Sink made my think that maybe it was going to be random stuff that Christopher had thrown together.

So, I began to listen to Good vs. Evil. The first thing heard was a clip of Burgess Meredith as the Penguin by The Underdog theme and then Prodigy, David Bowie and classic Cheap Trick. That sums up this podcast, sound bites and music with very little talk, and it was fantastic.

I’m not sure, but I wonder if Mr. Floyd is around my age because so much that he played appealed to me. I knew when I heard Gonna Raise Hell from Cheap Trick’s Dream police; I was listening to something unique. Guess my plans to be ruthless are out the window!

Early in the second show, I heard my favorite band, The Detroit Cobra’s! Now I know I’m a fan of The Kitchen Sink! I’m not saying that every song appealed to my taste, but that’s understandable. For me, 85% to 90% of the music was awesome.

I don’t know the selection of music will appeal to everyone, but if you’re an older guy like me, this podcast is worth the download. I, myself, am a subscriber and will listen to every show. Thanks Christopher for letting me know about this!
